Len Sharp moved to Webster from Brockport in 1996.  A 24 year veteran in the transportation industry, he joined the Webster Chamber and became active on the Case for Business Committee.  In 2005 he started “Direct Ship Services, Inc.” when he saw the need for an independent export company in the transportation community.

Direct Ship Services is a transportation company specializing in exporting goods from Rochester and Buffalo.  Len coordinates international shipments from the shipper’s door through US customs and completes the transaction by delivering the product to the overseas buyer.  The company also provides domestic distribution services from their warehouse in Macedon.

Len currently serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.  He also served from 2002 to 2005.  In 2003 he was active in organizing a series of educational forums for small businesses.  The “brown bag” lunch workshops featured a relevant topic for business owners and entrepreneurs followed by time for discussion around the topic. 

Len is an active elder at the Webster Presbyterian Church and is a past President of the Men’s Fellowship.  For eight years he volunteered for  “Meals on Wheels”.  He is a past president of the Rochester Toastmasters Club.
